Antique c.1900 Borden's Eagle Brand Condensed Milk die-cut cardboard advertising sign — a beautiful double-sided chromolithograph hanger printed by the American Lithographic Co. of New York. Measures 13" high x 9.75" wide on heavy cardstock, with a metal eyelet at the top for hanging.
FRONT: a young girl with curly hair in a blue dress holding a can of Eagle Brand condensed milk, set in an ornate die-cut Victorian frame. Reads "BORDEN'S / EAGLE BRAND / CONDENSED MILK / HAS NO EQUAL FOR INFANTS AND CHILDREN."
BACK: "ESTABLISHED IN 1857. / BORDEN'S / EAGLE BRAND / CONDENSED MILK. / The Best Known Brand in the World. Best Food for Infants. Sold Everywhere." Also advertises BORDEN'S PEERLESS EVAPORATED CREAM, with "BORDEN'S CONDENSED MILK CO., NEW YORK, U.S.A. / THE LARGEST MANUFACTURERS OF MILK PRODUCTS IN THE WORLD. / ORIGINATORS OF CONDENSED MILK."
CONDITION: Pre-owned, age-appropriate wear. The front has a small stain on the girl's dress; the back shows foxing/staining spots — both are visible in the close-up photos. The board is otherwise intact with strong, bright graphics. Please review all photos.
A great piece of early American dairy advertising — perfect for farmhouse kitchen decor, advertising collections, or a country-store display.
