Colorful circa 1980s handmade make-do scrap quilt top, machine pieced from an eclectic assortment of repurposed and saved household textiles. The improvisational patchwork construction gives this piece wonderful one-of-a-kind folk art character, with fabrics that appear to span different periods and previous uses.

Rather than coordinated quilting yardage, the maker appears to have assembled saved household scraps and remnants into a large, vibrant patchwork. It can be completed with batting, backing and binding as a functional quilt or displayed and preserved as a distinctive piece of vintage American folk textile art.
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition and appears never to have been finished or used as a completed quilt. No holes or stains noted. Outer edges remain intentionally raw and unfinished. The stitching visible on one pink fabric section appears to have been present on the repurposed scrap before it was incorporated into the quilt top and is considered part of the character and history of the piece.
